As the Paralympics has been coming to a close, Let’s get a quick recap on two stirring group events that you mustn’t miss.

Women's Sitting Volleyball team: Deffending the medal

Aug. 28, 2021, Women’s Sitting Volleyball team beat Rwanda 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-11) at the Makuhari Messe event center on August 28. The match was the first time the team was able to play as a group of 12 in Tokyo after health issues forced some players to quarantine for a time.

The next match against the strong rival, China, was a struggle. The U.S. Women’s national team lost to China 3-0 on Monday, making the match against the Russian Paralympic Committee team a must-win if the U.S. Women’s team hopes to play for a medal.

Men's Wheelchair basketball: Finding rhythm and pace with confidence

The Paralympics were the first (competitive) games in almost two years for the men’t wheelchair basketball team. Other than the match against Iran winning in two consecutive sets, every match was highly competitive. Great Britain went ahead on a free throw, and Serio’s attempt at a buzzer beater fell short as the U.S. suffered its first loss, 64-63. For the next match against Australia, the US team ran ahead with a 66-38 victory, bouncing back from defeat. Turek led the team with 21 points followed by Matt Scott with 16 points and Williams with 13.
